The Supreme Court today fixed October 1 for holding hearing on a petition filed by BNP leader Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury seeking a stay on a High Court order that cleared the way for the Anti-Corruption Commission to quiz him over corruption allegations.

Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division Justice M Imman Ali fixed the date after a brief hearing on the petition.

The High Court order will remain in force until the Supreme Court chamber judge passes any stay order, Anti-corruption Commission’s lawyer Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan told The Daily Star.

Amir Khasru today filed the petition with the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the High Court order.

Barrister Moudud Ahmed appeared for Amir Khasru.

The High Court yesterday cleared the way for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to quiz BNP leader Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury in connection with allegations of corruption against him.

The court summarily rejected a writ petition filed by Amir Khasru challenging ACC notices asking him to appear before the commission for interrogation.
