BNP riding on the back of Kamal: Quader
Terming BNP as a leaderless political party, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said BNP is now "riding on the back" of Dr Kamal Hossain.
Quader said, “Their (BNP’s) leader is now in jail being convicted in corruption case and its acting chairperson is a fugitive in London being sentenced to life imprisonment."
"The leaderless BNP is now depending on Dr Kamal Hossain," he added.
Quader also road transport and bridges minister made the remarks while visiting different puja mandaps in his electoral constituency of Kabirhat and Companyganj upazilas in Noakhali.
Referring to the exit of Bangladesh National Awami Party (NAP) and National Democratic Party (NDP) from the BNP-led 20-party alliance, Quader said, "Two wickets of the alliance are already down. It will be seen how many more wickets will fall in the coming days."
Quader also mentioned that Zaker Party and some other political parties have expressed their interest to join the Awami League-led 14-party alliance.
The decision regarding the matter will be taken in the next working committee meeting of the alliance, he added.
