Hasina to lead AL talks with president
Awami League President Sheikh Hasina will lead a 19-member team at Bangabhaban tomorrow for talks with the president on Election Commission reformation.
The ruling party is the last in the line-up for talks with President Abdul Hamid, who has already met several political parties on reformation talks in the walk to next election.
Awami League’s schedule at Bangabhaban is chalked for 4:00pm. The party’s advisers, presidium members and secretaries are expected to attend, Abdus Sobhan Golap, the party’s office secretary, told The Daily Star.
Later, Obaidul Quader, the general secretary of the party, will address a press briefing and disclose the content of the meetings around evening tomorrow, a press release said.
So far, 22 political parties, starting with BNP, have met with the president – most of which have batted for enacting a law for the reformation of the Election Commission.
BNP, the political archrival of ruling Awami League, was the party which sought for discussion with the president on EC reformation talks. The president accepted the proposal and invited the political parties.
