BNP can’t thwart polls: Quader
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said BNP has no capacity to thwart next general election.
"Even if BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia would be unfit for the election by the court, the party will not be able to resist the election," he said reacting to the BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's warning of thwarting election yesterday.
Quader, also minister for road transport and bridges, made this observation while replying to a question of journalists after inaugurating a three-day Rajshahi Divisional Digital Innovation Fair- 2017 at Rajshahi College playground.
“If Khaleda Zia is convicted by the court, she will be unfit for the election,” said Quader.
He added that general people will accept the court verdict. If BNP will disobey the verdict, people will resist the party.
“BNP has no ability to resist the election as they couldn't do on January 5, 2014 and can’t do the same in future,” he said.
Divisional Commissioner's Office organised the fair displaying latest ICT products, multi-media classroom, mobile banking and e-learning items through around 65 stalls.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam and State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak addressed the ceremony, chaired by Divisional Commissioner-in-Charge Munir Hossain.
