Who are more vulnerable to coronavirus?
While the coronavirus is spreading across the world at an alarming rate, a study by the Chinese Center for Disease and Prevention concluded that the death rate was 10 times higher in the very elderly, compared to the middle-aged, youth and children.
The study, which reviewed more than 44,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in China as of February 11, also revealed that males are marginally more likely to be affected by the virus (at 2.8% fatality rate) than females (1.7%).
The data also revealed that across age groups, the survival rate is relatively quite high and seems to fatally affect people of age groups which are more likely to have other health conditions.
