Raped, murdered O-level student laid to rest in Kushtia
The O-level student, who was raped in Dhaka's Kalabagan area and was pronounced dead on arrival at a private hospital on Thursday, has been buried at her village home in Kushtia Sadar upazila this morning.
She was laid to rest at a graveyard in Gopalpur following a namaz-e-janaza at the village's Eidgah premises after Fajr prayers, her maternal uncle told The Daily Star.
Thousands of people attended the janaza, he said.

Soon after the autopsy, the family members along with the body started for Kushtia where they reached around 1:30am today, he added.
On their arrival, people from nearby areas rushed to the ancestral home of the victim. They protested and demanded justice for the victim.
She was raped and died due to hemorrhagic shock and excessive bleeding, a forensic expert at Dhaka Medical College said yesterday after performing an autopsy on the body.
"We found injury marks both in her genital and rectum," Dr Sohel Mahmud, head of the forensic department at the DMC, told reporters after conducting the autopsy.
On Thursday night, the girl's father filed a case with Kalabagan Police Station against Fardin Iftekhar Dihan -- an 18-year-old who has recently passed his A-level examinations -- over the rape and murder of his daughter.
