O-level student rape, murder: Police to seek 10-day remand for Fardin
Police will seek a 10-day remand for Fardin Iftekhar Dihan in connection with the case filed over the murder of a 17-year-old after rape at a flat in Dhaka's Kalabagan area yesterday.
The victim was an O-level student of Mastermind English Medium School.
Sajjadur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Ramna Division, said this while briefing reporters after the annual general meeting of the Crime Reporters Unity at Segunbagicha area today.
The victim's father filed the case with Kalabagan Police Station last night, said Abul Hasan, assistant commissioner (New Market Zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
"We interrogated three others, who were picked up from the hospital (where the victim was taken) last night and are investigating their involvement. If they are found to be involved, we will implicate them in the case, otherwise we will release them upon receiving undertaking," he said.
In the case statement, the complainant alleged that Fardin tricked his daughter to go to his flat and raped her when his family members were not home.
Due to rape, the victim bled profusely and was unconscious. Fardin then took her to hospital to deflect blame, the victim's father alleged.
Police earlier said they learnt about the incident after Fardin drove the girl to Anwar Khan Modern Hospital yesterday afternoon.
Doctors at the hospital said she was brought dead.
