2 killed after being hit by train in Dhaka

Two people were killed after being hit by a train in Dhaka's Malibagh area this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Nur Islam (27) and Mohammad Rakib (25), both from Netrakona.

Shah Jahan, a sub-inspector of Dhaka Railway Police Station said the incident took place around 12:30pm when the victims were crossing the rail tracks in Gulbagh area and two trains were passing parallel lines.

One of the trains hit the duo leaving them dead on the spot.

Police confirmed their identities after going through their ID cards which said they worked for the marketing department of a private company.
