2 individuals, 1 organisation nominated for Bangabandhu Award for Wildlife Conservation
Two individuals and a voluntary environmental organisation have been nominated for the Bangabandhu Award for Wildlife Conservation-22 for their contribution to nature and wildlife conservation.
Of the two individuals, Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, divisional forest officer (DFO) of wildlife management and nature conservation division of Sylhet, has been nominated in the forest conservation category.
Aminuzzaman Md Saleh Reza, professor of the department of Zoology, University of Rajshahi, was nominated in the category of wildlife research and education.
Bangladesh Biodiversity Conservation Federation (BBCF), has been nominated in the category of organisation dedicated for wildlife conservation.
A notice undersigned by Munira Sultana, joint secretary of the Ministry of Forest and Climate Change, has been issued in this regard.
"The notice was issued on May 3 and I received it yesterday [Sunday] evening through email," said SM Iqbal, president of BBCF.
The nominated individuals and organisation will receive certificates and cash equivalent to the market value of 23.32 grams of gold and account payee cheque of Tk 50,000.
