As February 21 was a public holiday, four friends who worked at two private companies got together on Wednesday at a house in Narayanganj’s Kanchpur area.

At least 82 people died in gas explosion-related fires in Narayanganj over the last three years, according to police and fire service.

A poultry seller was killed in a road accident on Rajshahi-Dhaka highway in Rajshahi city’s Bhadra area yesterday morning.

"The incident took place in Ghosherhat area on the Chandpur-Cumilla regional highway early in the morning. A Chandpur-bound auto-rickshaw collided head on with a bus while trying to overtake a parked car. Three passengers of the auto-rickshaw were killed on the spot"

A fire broke out at a market in Chattogram’s Anderkilla area around 12:15am today

Three workers sustained burn injuries as a gas cylinder exploded at a restaurant in Khulshi of Chattogram city this morning

"The rescue team was [initially] not able to bring in equipment and vehicles due to the crowd, resulting in losing valuable time when the fire started," he added.

Even though the fire service managed to reach quickly this time, the need for a station around the neighbourhood is imminent as unfavourable conditions could delay the response time in future. 

They are being treated at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery
