Orsha plays a strong suit

Orsha announced her arrival in the Bangladeshi media through the Lux-Channel i talent hunt; and in a few years, carved a steady niche for herself in the arena. Paving the path to stardom with her talent, Orsha is now one of the leading Lux beauties active in the media. Orsha's talent is not confined to the field of TV dramas, but has extended to modelling and the silver screen. Although TV plays remain her strong suit, Orsha says she is always pressed for time, due to the constant pressure of her studies. “Without the academic pressure, I could've done more work,” she points out. Despite the obstacles, consistency in performance account for a flourishing career as an actor. Her performances in one-hour dramas and serials have been acclaimed by both critics and audience. Among her performances, one of the most popular is her portrayal of Dipaboli in “Saatkahon”, a TV adaptation of Samaresh Majumdar's novel. Desh TV is airing the serial, directed by Golam Sohrab Dodul. Orsha asserts that playing the role of Dipaboli has catapulted her into the limelight, and terms the opportunity as a “turning point”. Saying that she had read the novel before working on the serial, Orsha adds that she had received accolades for her portrayal of the character. “I read the novel before working in the drama. The character seemed very challenging to me. But as I worked on it, I felt that I was involved in a great project,” says Orsho. Ntv is also airing another serial by Orsha, titled “99 Saheb Ali Lane”. The actress says she is enjoying her work, as both the story and her character are very humorous. On her work for the silver screen, Orsha says she has worked in one film so far, and will discuss future projects only after its release. Apart from her acting gigs, Orsha is currently studying in the Food and Nutrition Department at the University of Dhaka. Despite her success in the media, she is intent on doing well on the academic front as well.
