Mobile court seals illegal medicine factory in Turag, jails owner and managers

A mobile court backed by Rapid Action Battalion yesterday sentenced different terms to a unani medicine factory owner and two staffers for producing medicines in an unhygienic environemnt and without permission from the concerned authorities in Dhaka's Turag area.

SM Golam Sarwoer (38), had been running Natural Research Laboratory for long without permission from the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA), and producing substandard medicines. He was handed one year of imprisonment, Mozammel Haque, commanding officer of Rab-4, said.

Two factory managers -- Amiomoy Nandi and Azizul Hakim -- will serve three and one month(s) in jail respectively, he added.

The mobile court, led by executive magistrate Akhtaruzzaman, sealed the factory and destroy the seized items.
