Officer-in-charge of Kamrangirchar Police Station Mostafizur Rahman said they primarily came to know that two youths entered the four-storey building around 8:30pm.

After they left the house, the woman was found with stab injuries and was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

The OC said there was a tenant on the ground floor of the house, who shifted to another house a couple of days ago but they left some belongings there.

The youths entered the house to take away the belongings, the OC said, quoting the victim's family members.

"We have started our investigation and will be able to give details afterwards," he added.

Selina's brother Moniruzzaman said Obaidullah married Selina after his first wife, also elder sister of the victim, died nine months back due to illness.

A feud was going on between the couple and children of Obaidullah and his first wife. Selina also received death threat from them.

Obaidullah demanded fair investigation and immediate arrest of the killers.

The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
