Construction of 200-bed Covid Field Hospital under BSMMU approved

A 200-bed Covid Field Hospital will be built at the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention Center under Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.

The approval was given at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal presided over the meeting.

The minister, following the meeting, told reporters during a virtual briefing that it would cost an estimated Tk 10.28 crore.

The government had decided to set up a 1,000-bed Covid Field Hospital under BSMMU, the minister said.

However, in the first phase, the construction of a 200-bed Covid Field Hospital was approved, he added.
