Turkish passenger with rashes not a monkeypox case
The Turkish citizen, who was sent to a Dhaka hospital earlier this noon with rashes on his body, is not a monkeypox case, health officials said.
"I myself have diagnosed the patient. He has no monkeypox symptom. The rashes on his body are due to his long-term skin disease," Prof Ahmedul Kabir, Additional Director General (Administration) of the health directorate told The Daily Star.
The 32-year-old Turkish citizen was sent to the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Mohakhali area this noon as health officials at Dhaka airport HSIA identified "monkeypox symptoms" during screening.
The man landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka via a Turkish Airlines flight at around 2:00pm today, health official said.
