Dengue outbreak: 65 more hospitalised in 24 hours
At least 65 people with dengue fever were admitted to hospitals across the country in 24 hours till 8:00am today.
With them, the number of people diagnosed with dengue this year rose to 1,347, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of them, 975 were diagnosed in July alone, which is more than half of the total infected, indicating a rapid transmission of the disease.
Only 38 of the total infected are from outside Dhaka.
Earlier, 272 were diagnosed with dengue in June while 43 in May.
At present, 402 patients are undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka while eight are being treated outside the capital. The rest of the patients were released following recovery, according to the DGHS data.
