Dengue fever: 241 hospitalised in 24 hours
At least 241 patients were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of them, only 59 patients are from outside Dhaka.
With the new cases, a total of 5,345 people were diagnosed this month out of the total 15,701 infected. Of the total infected, 1,778 patients are from outside Dhaka.
At least 7,698 patients were hospitalised in August, 2,286 in July, 272 in June while 43 were infected in May, according to the DGHS.
According to the DGHS, till now 59 people have died of dengue infection in the country this year. Twelve people died in July while 34 have died in August and 13 in September till now.
Among them, 54 died in Dhaka division, two each in Chattogram and Khulna, and one in Rajshahi division.
Though most of the patients who were hospitalised have so far been released, 1,107 are still undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka, and 207 outside the capital, the DGHS data showed.
