16 die in Covid units of 3 Bogura Hospitals in 24 hours

Sixteen patients at the Covid units of three hospitals in Bogura died during 24 hours till 8am today.

A total of 524 samples were tested during this time, of which 176 were positive. The current positivity rate stands at 33 percent, reports our local correspondent, quoting the district civil surgeon's office.

Six patients died in Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital till this morning, of whom one was Covid-19 positive while rest had symptoms, said Dr Abdul Wadud, deputy director of the hospital.

In the 250-bed Bogura Mohammad Ali Hospital, eight died during this time. Of them, four were Covid-19 positive and four had symptoms, according to hospital sources.

On the other hand, one coronavirus patient died in TMSS Medical College and Hospital in 24 hours till 8 this morning, said Abdur Rahim Rubel, spokesperson of the hospital.
