Medical equipment to fight Covid donated by US-Bangladesh Business Council reaches Dhaka
The second shipment of medical equipment to fight Covid-19, donated by US-Bangladesh Business Council in partnership with American NGO Project CURE, reached Dhaka airport this afternoon.
Chargé d'Affaires JoAnne Wagner and Acting USAID Bangladesh Mission Director Milan Pavlovic received the shipment of 60 oxygen concentrators and 43,000 KN95 masks, according to the official Facebook page of the US Embassy in Bangladesh.
The medical instruments "will be distributed to medical colleges to protect front-line health workers and provide oxygen treatment to COVID-19 patients more effectively," reads the post.
The donation initiative was developed by US-Bangladesh Business Council members Chevron, Excelerate Energy, Metlife, and HSBC Bangladesh with support from the US Embassy in Dhaka, USAID, and Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, DC, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Directorate General of Health Services, according to a press release issued earlier.
