16 die in Covid-19 units at 3 Bogura hospitals in 24 hours

Sixteen patients died at the Covid-19 units of three Bogura hospitals in 24 hours (till 8am) today.

The three hospitals are Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, the 250-bed Bogura Md Ali Hospital and TMSS Medical College Hospital.

Seven died in the Covid-19 unit of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital till this morning. Among them three had tested positive for the infection while four had symptoms, said the hospital's Deputy Director Dr Abdul Wadud.

At the 250-bed Bogura Md Ali Hospital, four coronavirus positive patients died while two others who died had Covid-19 like symptoms, said ATM Nuruzzaman, supervisor of the hospital.

At TMSS Medical College Hospital, three Covid-19 patients died, the hospital authorities confirmed.

During the 24 hours, of the 512 samples tested, 170 were found positive in Bogura.
