Covid-19: 31 dead in 24 hours, positivity rate now 4.54%
Thirty-one people died of Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,368, and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.
A total of 27,141 samples were tested across the country and at least 1,233 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 1,549,553 added the release.
The current positivity rate is 4.54 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 16.18 percent.
At least 1,413 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,509,202 and the recovery rate is 97.4 percent.
Among the 31 deceased, 18 were men and 13 were women.
Of them, two were between 21-30 years old, one between 31-40, four between 41-50, six between 51-60, nine between 61-70, five were between 71-80 and three between 81-90, and one was within 91-100 years old, added the release.
