7 Covid-19 deaths recorded in 24hrs, positivity rate now 1.71%
Seven people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,854 and the death rate stands at 1.78 percent.
A total of 17,811 samples were tested across the country and at least 305 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 1,569,162, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 1.71 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 15.21 percent.
At least 271 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1,532,966 and the recovery rate is 97.69 percent.
Among the seven deceased, four were men and three were women.
Of them, one was between 11-20 years old, one between 21-30, one between 31-40 years old, one between 41-50,one between 51-60, one between 61-70, and one over between 100 years old, added the release.
