61 Covid-19 deaths recorded in a day, current positivity rate 9.82%

Sixty-one people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 26,493 and the death rate stands at 1.75 percent.

A total of 17,750 samples were tested across the country and at least 1,743 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,12,026, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 9.82 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 16.73 percent.

At least 3,421 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 14,46,003 and the recovery rate is 95.63 percent. 

Among the 61 deceased, 30 were men and 31 were women.

Of them, two were between  21-30, six between 31-40, seven between 41-50, 14 between 51-60, 14 between 61-70,  11 between 71-80 and five between 81-90 and two betwee 91-100 years old, added the release.
