31 Covid-19 deaths, 1,310 new cases recorded in 24 hours
Thirty-one people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8 am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With them, the total number of deaths reached 27,470, and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.
At least 1,310 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,53,873, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 4.49 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 16.06 percent.
A total of 29,186 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).
At least 1,195 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,13,876, and the recovery rate at 97.43 percent.
Among the 31 deceased, 17 were men and 14 women. Of them one was between 11-20 years old, one within 21-30, one between 31-40; three were between 41-50; eight within 51-60, five within 61-70, seven between 71-80, and five were within 81-90 years old, added the release.
