Md Musharrof Hossain has been elected as the President of the Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resources Management (APFHRM) at a board meeting held in Santiago, Chile on 13 October, 2014. APFHRM is a network of human resources and people management associations in the Asia Pacific region. As a collective, the Federation's purpose is to advance the standing of the HR and people management profession within the region. APFHRM is also an active branch of the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA).

Musharrof Hossain took over the position from the outgoing President of APFHRM Ernesto Espinosa, who ended his tenure of two years. He is the first Bangladeshi to be elected as the President of APFHRM. Mr. Hossain is also the President of the Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM) as well as one of its founding members. He is currently working with icddr,b as the Head of Human Resources Management.
