Lion ‘Tumpa’ dies at Dulahazara Safari Park
A lion died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Dulahazara of Cox's Bazar's Chakaria upazila early today.
The Asiatic lion, named Tumpa, was 15, Park in-charge Md Mazharul Islam told our Cox's Bazar staff correspondent.
"The lion had been ill for nearly two months. Tumpa was being treated at the park quarantine after the animal tested positive for Babesia on January 28," said Mazharul.
Meanwhile, Chakaria Upazila Livestock Officer Mostakim Billah and Veterinary Officer of the safari park Hatem Sajjat Md Zulkar Nayeen conducted the autopsy this noon.
