Another vulture rescued in Patuakhali
A rare species of vulture was rescued from a paddy field at Boaltoli village in Patuakhali Sadar upazila today.
The hungry and unwell vulture was rescued at 2 pm, reports our Patuakhali correspondent quoting Abul Kalam, forest officer of Mohipur range.
Eyewitnesses said, a group of students were walking along the road in Boaltoli village and discovered the vulture at a low branch of tree and threw stones targeting it.
According to them, the students caught the vulture from a paddy field when it tried to flee.
On information, Ujjal Hossain, beat officer of Dhulasha Union forest department rushed to the spot and rescued the vulture.
Abdulla Al Mamun, forest officer of Patuakhali district, said the vulture is currently receiving treatment.
After providing necessary treatment, it would be released, he added.
Earlier, on January 1, a vulture was rescued from Charmontaj area of Rangabali upazila of the district.
