4 white tiger cubs born at the Ctg Zoo

Four white tiger cubs have been born to tiger couple Raj and Pori – their second litter of offspring since they were brought in 2016 at Chattogram Zoo.
The mother and the cubs have been kept in separate confinements, for now, our Chattogram staff correspondent reports quoting Dr Shahadat Hossain Suvo, deputy curator of the zoo.
"The pups and their mother will be provided with intensive care and kept out of visitors' eyes for the time being. We will ensure all necessary support for their health," he said.
The sexes of the cubs are yet to be ascertained and the process usually takes a few weeks. After that period, the baby tigers will be given names.
According to the expert, the mother tiger can become violent and aggressive after giving birth, which might harm the cubs' health or possibly result in their death.
Now, the number of tigers in Chittagong zoo has increased to 16. Before the birth of the cubs, 12 tigers were the only tigers drawing visitors' attention.
This will enhance the beauty of the zoo and will attract more visitors, officials at the zoo said.
