28 python hatchlings released into Chattogram forest
Twenty-eight pythons which were hatched through an artificial incubator at Chattogram Zoo have been released into the deep forest of Sitakunda Eco-park in the district today.
Under presence of Sitakunda upazila nirbahi officer, Chattogram Zoo officials and forest officials, the 28 hatchlings were released one by one, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.
The secretary of governing body of the zoo Ruhul Amin told The Daily Star "28 pythons were born out of 31 eggs through incubator on June 22 where Shahadat Hossain Shuvo, a veterinary surgeon and curator used to take care of it."
"As the hatchlings are growing up, we released them into the deep forest to cope up with the natural environment," the official added.
"The zoo authority in 2019 released 25 python hatchlings in the forest after the python eggs were hatched through incubator for the first time in the country," he added.
