Nat'l grid failure wasn't technical glitch rather man-made issue: Nasrul Hamid
The incident of national grid failure in eastern part of the country was not due to technical glitches, but a man-made problem, said Nasrul Hamid, the state minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
He said stern action will be taken against the people who were responsible for the grid failure of October 4, 2022. More than half of the country including Dhaka and Chattogram were out of electricity that day for four to eight hours.
Talking to the media at a programme at Keraniganj,Nasrul Hamid said, the probe report will be filed within next one or two days. "Then it will be clear who were responsible for the incident."
"We found that it was a result of lack of coordination between the NLDC (National Load Dispatch Centre), PDB (Bangladesh Power Development Board) and Desco (Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited)," he said.
"Responsible people will be sacked and departmental actions will be taken against them," the minister added.
It will take another two weeks to cover up the shock of grid failure, the state minister said, adding that the load-shedding has increased in Dhaka and its adjoining areas following the recent power grid failure.
Bandhan Society of Bangladesh (BSB) organised the tree plantation programme at Keraniganj Chunkutia Boys' School and College.
