Nationwide celebrations mark July Uprising Day

The country's largest public gathering marking July Uprising Day is being held today at the capital's Manik Mia Avenue. The main highlight of the day will be the public reading of the "July Declaration" at 5pm.
A post from the verified Facebook page of the chief adviser, published last Sunday, stated, "The interim government has finalised the draft of the July Declaration. On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 5pm, the July Declaration will be presented before the nation in the presence of all parties involved in the uprising." Another post confirmed that daylong programmes would be held at the venue to commemorate the occasion.
The event, titled "36 July Celebration", began at 11am with street performances, followed by music from Saimum Shilpigoshthi, Kolorob Shilpigoshthi, Nahid, Sezan, Shunno, Sayan, Ethun Babu and Moushumi, Souls, Warfaze, Basic Guitar Learning School, F Minor, Parsha Mahjabeen, Elita Karim, and Artcell.
The evening's special attraction is a drone drama titled "Do You Miss Me". The programme is organised by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, managed by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, and supported by the Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat.
As a tribute to the bravery of the July movement participants and to promote unity, the University of Dhaka is hosting a concert titled "Jagrata July" at the Raju Sculpture premises, beginning at 7pm. The concert will feature performances by leading bands and artistes. Vice-Chancellor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan will attend as chief guest, while Pro Vice-Chancellors Dr Sayma Haque Bidisha (administration) and Dr Mamun Ahmed (education) will attend as special guests. Treasurer Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury will preside over the event.
In Brahmanbaria, a concert will be held from 5pm at Nabinagar Government College field, featuring Kona, Sajal, Sathi Khan, Fly Dance Group, and actress Shokh. Deepti Chowdhury will host the event.
Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University in Tangail is hosting "Swadhinata 2.0", a cultural evening featuring a performance by band Kureghor.
Thakurgaon District Administration has organised a "Gano Abhuththan Dibosh Udyapon" concert at the Zilla School field, set to begin at 7pm with performances by Blue Jeans and Itibritto.
In Rajshahi, Barendra University is organising a "36 July Concert" at the university's plaza, starting at 4pm.
In Panchagarh, a concert at the Government Auditorium will begin at 7pm, featuring performances by bands Purbobash and Epitaph.
Meanwhile, a special event will be held at 6pm at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, organised by the mime troupe Mime Art. The programme will include poetry recitations, an open discussion, and a performance of "Rokte Agun Legechhe", a solo mime play written, directed, and performed by Nithor Mahbub.
