Awami League’s mayor candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation Atiqul Islam said he will accept the election result, whatever it is.

“I am hopeful about victory. Rival parties are contesting, but after the election we want to work together,” he said after casting his vote at Nawab Habibullah School and College in Uttara.

“I believe people will cast votes for boat. I will try my level best to ensure an attractive, modern and accessible Dhaka,” he added.

“If my opponent wins, I'll share with him my experience of the last nine months as mayor. Hopefully, he will cooperate with me even if he loses,” the AL mayor candidate said.

He urged the voters to come to centres to cast their votes for their chosen candidates.

“I’m very happy with the EVM experience. It was interesting,” he said.
