Triple murder in Pirojpur: Police say it was during a robbery
Police today said the triple murder which took place in Pirojpur the day before Eid-Ul-Azha happened during a robbery.
Addressing a press conference at Mathbaria Police Station, Hayatul Islam Khan, superintendent of Pirojpur district police, said, "The killings took place as the victims were able to identify four of the robbers," SP Hayatur said.
"Four people have participated in the killings. Of them, two, including the mastermind, have been arrested," he added.
On July 31, police recovered three bodies from a rented house at Dhanisafa village in Pirojpur. It was learnt that those were of a man who was a rickshaw-puller, his wife and their three-year-old daughter.
The arrestees were identified as Md Ali Biswas, 38, hailing from Dhanisafa village and Md Rakib Bepary, hailing from the same village, police said.
The two others accused are on the run, SP Hayatur said without disclosing their identities.
He also said they had arrested six suspects in connection with the murders.
Police recovered the lethal weapon that was used in the murder, he added.
