Supreme Court launches Cause List app
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain today inaugurated the "Supreme Court of Bangladesh Cause List Apps" through a virtual meeting.
The apex court introduced the app so that people, including lawyers, litigants and law enforcers can get information on cases, such as their updates and latest positions, and results after the Appellate and High Court divisions hold hearings on those, said the chief justice while inaugurating the application.
He said that it was available in Google play store.
The chief justice said the Supreme Court is pledge-bound to ensure people's access to justice, transparency at all levels of judicial system and justice.
"There is no alternative to gain competence in digital technology in order to get ready for the future along with the revolution of the information technology," he said.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain said the two benches and chamber judge of the Appellate Division and 19 division (two judges) benches, and 14 single (one judges) bench of the High Court Division are now operating judicial functions through virtual system.
Lawyers from different areas including Haor regions and even from abroad can move cases through virtual system, the chief justice added.
Law Minister Anisul Huq extended thanks to all involved in introducing the Supreme Court of Bangladesh Cause List Apps.
Attorney General and Supreme Court Bar Association President AM Amin Uddin also spoke on the occasion.
