Drug case against Shipra: Police express ‘no confidence’ on Rab’s final report
Police have expressed "no confidence" in the final report submitted by Rab in the drug case filed against Shipra Debnath, a colleague of slain (retd) Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan.
Taking the complainant's application into cognizance, the court fixed tomorrow for next hearing of the case. Accused Shipra Debnath was present in the court today.
Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Court-2 (Ramu) Judge Delwar Hossain passed the order, Shipra Debnath's lawyer Advocate Arup Barua Topu told The Daily Star.
The court has also granted permanent bail to Shipra Debnath in the case, he added.
While talking with journalists in the court premises, Shipra expressed her dissatisfaction over the court order and said they are looking forward to the next trial.
On December 13, Rab submitted its final report over the drug case filed under the Narcotics Act against Shipra Debnath to a court where the report said it found the allegation against Shipra was untrue and asked the court to acquit her from the case.
