Jatiya Sangsad to go into 9th session on September 6

The 11th Jatiya Sangsad will go into its ninth session on September 6.

President Abdul Hamid today convened the session as per his power under article 72(1) of the Constitution, according to a press release of the parliament secretariat.

The session will begin at 11:00am on the day, the release added.

Duration of the second session is likely to be short, sources at the parliament secretariat told The Daily Star.

The budget and eighth session of current 11th parliament was postponed on July 9 after only nine working days, making it the shortest parliament session in the recent history of Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
