Govt working on safe migration

The government is sincerely working to ensure safe migration and reduce the costs for the Bangladeshi workers who aspire for foreign jobs, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam said today.
"We are thanking IOM for assisting us to ensure safe migration for our people abroad," said Nurul Islam at a courtesy meeting with William Lacy Swing, director general of International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo.
The minister is now attending in the fourth ministerial-level meeting of Colombo Process in Sri Lanka. The meeting began today and will end tomorrow (Thursday), said a press release of the expatriates' welfare ministry.
Colombo Process, a regional forum of 11 countries those send migrant workers abroad, aim to ensure safe work facilities and better wages for their workers.
The minister is scheduled to return home on Friday.
