Cox’s Bazar, Teknaf OCs transferred within days of appointment
The officers-in-charge of Cox's Bazar and Teknaf police stations, both having taken up their posts earlier this month, were transferred for "internal reasons," a high-placed police official said today.
Md Khairuzzaman became OC of Cox's Bazar Police Station on August 17 and Abul Foysal was appointed OC of Teknaf Police Station on August 8 this year.
"It is totally for internal reasons. Police Headquarters has taken the step and the transfers have no relation to ongoing issues," the police official told The Daily Star wishing anonymity.
It could not be immediately known where the two OCs have been transferred.
Sohel Rana, assistant inspector general (media and public relations) at the Police Headquarters, confirmed the development to The Daily Star.
Abul Foysal had replaced Pradeep Kumar Das as OC of Teknaf Police Station, who was suspended on August 8 for his role in the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed.
Md Khairuzzaman had replaced Abu Mohammad Shahajahan Kabir, who was suspended on August 11 for negligence of duty after the death of an alleged drug peddler in police custody.
