Court orders to remain in effect till HC reopens fully

Court orders issued for specific periods, including those of bail and stay, will remain in force till complete reopening of the High Court, according to a notification issued by Supreme Court administration last night.
Supreme Court Registrar General Md Ali Akbar issued the notification under the directive of Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain in continuation of another notification issued on April 11.
It said the orders of cases in which bails, temporary injunctions, status quo and stay orders, issued for specific periods will be extended till the full reopening of the High Court.
The High Court will resume both regular and virtual functions today after five months.
The April 11 notification had said that ad-interim orders passed by courts giving bails, stay of trial proceedings and directives for surrender of accused to lower courts will be extended for two weeks after courts reopen.
