Bullet-hit body of ‘criminal’ found in Meherpur

Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a suspected criminal at Darbeshpur in Meherpur Sadar upazila early today.

The deceased was identified as Ismail Hossain Bakka, 32, son of Sadek Ali of Chuadanga district.

Hearing sound of exchanging gunshots, a team of police went to the spot and recovered the body of Ismail, said sub-inspector Abbas Ali, in-charge of Baradi police camp.

Police suspected that Ismail was killed in a 'gunfight' between two groups of 'criminals' over internal feud.

Police also recovered two bullets, two cartidges and some locallly made weapons from the spot.
