2 teenage boys die after fishing trawler capsizes in Meghna

Two teenage boys drowned to death after a fishing trawler capsized in Meghna river in Noakhali's Hatiya upazila due to stormy weather.

Nine other fishermen were rescued after the capsize last night, our Noakhali correspondent reports quoting Hatiya Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Abul Khair.

Around 8:00am today, locals recovered the bodies of Rajib Hossain (14), and Insaf Hossain (16), both from Charishwar union in the upazila.

Trawler owner Selim said eleven fishermen including Rajib and Insaf went fishing in the Bay of Bengal around 8:30pm yesterday. The trawler capsized when the fishermen reached Bashan Char as the weather worsened.

Hatiya Police Station Officer-In-Charge Md Abul Khair confirmed the incident and said that the bodies were handed over to their families.
