1 killed, 4 injured in Bagerhat clash between neighbours

A man has been killed and four others injured in a clash between two groups in Sharankhola upazila of Bagerhat.

The deceased was identified as Zakir Jomaddar (55) of Dhansagar village under the upazila, reports our Bagerhat correspondent quoting police.

The incident took place this afternoon when Zakir and his family members locked in a clash with neighbour Montu and his family. During the clash, Zakir got hit on his head with a torch light and four others also sustained injuries, said SK Abdullah Al Saied, officer-in-charge of Sharankhola Police Station.

Zakir was taken to a local hospital where doctor pronounced him dead, the OC said.

Police have recovered the body of the deceased and sent it to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for autopsy, OC Abdullah also said.

Filing of a case in this connection was underway, he said, adding that police are trying to arrest those involved in the incident.
