"It seems that the government has only one means to solve a problem. Which is "gunfight," Sultana Kamal said adding that this type of situation prevails when there is lack of good governance and accountability.
She said it at a protest rally in Shahbagh of Dhaka, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
Participants at the protest rally, organised by 24 civil organisations, demanded justice in the death of environment activist Uttam Kumar Devnath, end to the anarchy on road transports and killing of people.
Sultana Kamal, also vice-president of Bangladesh Paribesh Andolon (Bapa) in her speech that 15 to 16 people are dying every day in road accidents in the country.
On May 21, Uttam Kumar Devnath, 40, an official of Bapa, died as a bus hit him while he was crossing Dhaka-Aricha highway in Hemayetpur of Savar.
