Medical technologist tests positive for Covid-19 in Khulna

A medical technologist from Rupsha upazilla of Khulna who collected samples from Covid-19 patients has tested positive for coronavirus infection, the district's civil surgeon said.

The infected is an Expanded Program on Immunisation (EPI) technician of Rupsha Upazila Health Complex, reports our local correspondent quoting Civil Surgeon Dr Sujat Ahmed.

The EPI technician on Tuesday and Wednesday, collected samples of the family members of a Covid-19 patient who died recently, said Dr Anisur Rahman, the upazila health official.

Two of the persons he collected samples from, tested positive for coronavirus infection on Wednesday whereas he himself tested positive yesterday, Dr Anisur added.

The EPI technician was admitted to Khulna Corona Hospital today, Civil Surgeon Dr Sujat Ahmed said.
