Moghbazar slum locked down as resident tests Covid-19 positive
A slum in Dhaka's Moghbazar area has been locked down after one of its residents tested Covid-19 positive.
Abdur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Hatirjheel Police Station, said Lalmath Colony Slum in Peyarabagh area of Moghbazar was locked down this afternoon after a youth, aged around 23, who lives in a shanty with his family members, was found coronavirus positive.
The youth has been isolated in his residence, the OC said, adding that they were trying to admit him to the Mugda General Hospital.
Around 3,000 people live in the slum, said Md Anisur Rahman, a resident of Peyarabagh area.
