Iskcon Temple in Dhaka’s Swamibagh locked down

The Iskcon Temple in Dhaka's Swamibagh has been placed under lockdown in adherence with directives from the IEDCR, police said.
According to law enforcers, at least 31 people at the temple tested positive for Covid-19.
"The temple was placed under lockdown since Saturday morning following directives from the IEDCR as 31 persons who stay there were found to be Covid-19 positive on Friday," said Saju Miah, officer-in-charge of Gendaria Police Station.
The infected persons are in isolation inside the temple while no one from outside is being allowed to enter the temple premises, the OC said.
The lockdown will be in place until there is any further directives from the IEDCR or other authorities concerned, he added.
Shah Iftekharul Islam, deputy commissioner of Wari Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the development to The Daily Star.
