Hotels, motels, restaurants, tourist spots in Cox's Bazar will remain closed

Residential hotels, motels, cottages, restaurants and tourist spots in Cox's Bazar, the country's main tourist destination, will remain closed before Eid-ul-Azha.

Helaluddin Ahmed, senior secretary to the Local Government Division (LGD), made the announcement today at a review meeting on Covid-19 prevention in the district.

"The decision was taken to prevent coronavirus infection in Cox's Bazar," he said.

The meeting was chaired by Helaluddin Ahmed in the Cox's Bazar deputy commissioner's office at noon, reports our district correspondent.

Representatives of various organisations, including the local member of parliament, district council chairman, refugee relief and repatriation officer, deputy commissioner, superintendent of police, municipal mayor and civil surgeon were present at the meeting.
