Chapainawabganj MP Ferdosi Islam tests Covid-19 positive

Ruling Awami League's reserved seat MP Ferdosi Islam has been diagnosed with Covid-19.

The Chapainawabganj lawmaker confirmed the matter over phone today.

She submitted her samples at Parliament Medical Center on June 23 and the next day the report confirmed her infection, she said.

She is currently taking treatment while isolating at her NAM Bhavan house in Dhaka.

 On Thursday, samples of her family members were collected for Covid-19 tests, the MP said.

Meanwhile, health authorities have confirmed 3,868 cases after testing 18,498 samples in the 24 hours till 2:30 today. 40 more people have died in that time.

Since March 18, the government said 1,661 people died of Covid-19.
