Two hurt as train hits truck, rail link suspended for 6 hours

A truck driver and his helper were injured when a train hit the vehicle at Kewatkhali level crossing in Mymensingh Sadar yesterday.

The injured driver Mofazzol Hissain, 38, and helper Robin Miah, 35, were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Mymensingh Railway Police Station Abdul Ahad Khan said the Dhaka-bound Bhawal Express hit the truck while it was crossing the rail track. Following the incident, rail communications between Dhaka and Mymensingh remained suspended for six hours.

On information, a relief train from Mymensingh Railway Station rushed to the spot and rescued the truck, said the OC.
