Two held with yaba, gun in Ctg

Police arrested two persons with a locally-made gun and 605 yaba pills in port city's Patharghata area early yesterday.

A car was also seized from Sayed Md Tuhin (34) and Towsif Ahmed (25), said police.

Tuhin is the listed muggers in Kotwali and he has developed a drug peddling syndicate across the city, said the law enforcers.

Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nezam Uddin said a police team signaled a private car on Bundle Road in Patharghata. When the vehicle did not comply with it, police intercepted the car, said the OC.

The yaba and gun were found after checking their bodies, said the police officer.

Sub-inspector Mominul Hasan said, "The car was used in peddling yaba. They carried the gun to save themselves rivals."

"We are trying to arrest two others who escaped arrest," added SI Momin.
